One Week No Seat: Built to stand.

At the end of my second day of standing I am both exhausted and restless. My body knows that it is time to sleep, but at the same time my mind is still going full speed. I didn’t realize how much I depend on sitting down to relax. Over the past 2 days I have done my best to stay busy; cooking, cleaning, disc golf, soccer, anything I could find to keep me from wanting to sit. Even while writing this I continue to catch myself fidgeting and pacing. If I ignore the desire long enough I might forget about sitting, or I might have to sell my couch.

Reading that certainly encourages me to continue standing, and to learn more of the benefits or harm caused by standing for extended periods. At this point I have only noticed soreness in my feet when I allow my weight to rest on my heels. So far the outlook is positive and by the end of it I might be able to stand still for 10 minutes or so.
